edanur arlı is an antifascist, feminist visual artist based in vienna. her work spans oil painting, sculpture, and photography.
arlı’s work is deeply rooted in her lived experience as a woman raised within a turkish-muslim family in austria. she uses her art to critically examine the female role in upholding and perpetuating patriarchal structures. a defining element of her visual language is the deliberate interplay between vibrant colors and stark black-and-white contrasts, symbolizing the tensions and dualities of her heritage and social environment. while currently pursuing studying media management, she continues to expand her artistic range, exploring how photography can capture the nuances of identity and resistance in ways that complement her tactile work in oil and clay.
